In Puerto Rico there is a research center and home treatment for hypoxic ischemic conditions. Specifically for conditions in which there was an injury to the patient’s neurological level. It is located in Isabela, PR, located specifically at the Center for Adults and Children with Disabilities Inc.
This center is offering its services in a hyperbaric chamber treatment since May 2004. When you have found favorable results in patients with Cerebral Palsy, Head Trauma, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Autism Syndrome Syndrome Retts and Angel, among others. In Puerto Rico, is the only place authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA for its acronym in English) that provides these services to be experimental in nature.
In most of the above conditions treatment can vary from 40 to 120 treatments treatments in a single treatment session. The patient may need several sessions to deliver significant improvement. The m edical decide the number of treatments per session, which will take the patient. The number of sessions required for each patient will depend on the progress of the patient, supervised by a physician properly trained in Hyperbaric Medicine.
