Beans used to control for Diabetes (part IV)

“Another interesting fact that we obtained during our work is about a marker that is used to assess cardiovascular damage and is known as C-reactive protein. In this regard, we identified that the consumption of beans significantly reduces the substance, which in turn means that consumption could be lower cardiovascular risk, “she said.

Beans, she said, also allows to decrease in diabetic patients type I and II the loss of insulin-producing cells, and this allowed us to conclude that the bean also has the property of preventing the development of evil, despite being genetically prone to disease.

These results have been carried out jointly with the National Institute for Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock (INIFAP), with the aim of generating new varieties of beans and provide a product with nutritional benefits but by promoting the health benefits (prevention and control obesity, diabetes and colon cancer among others).

Finally, Rose Camacho noted that due to the findings of both grains, it was decided to extend the current research and work already done on the impact of beans and corn directly in humans suffering from high levels of glucose and lipid abnormalities, thus expected to corroborate the results obtained.
